MercantileB Artworks is a collaboration of sorts. My professional creative career has merged with offspring ideas I’ve had along the way. While working as a decorative painter in both commercial and residential I have gravitated towards plaster texture finishes and glossy metallics alongside matte and subtle color washes to create depth. When these applications are paired with florals, botanicals, and epoxy resin, a unique composition comes to life.

Mercantile B Artworks goal is to create a unique and well composed pieces of art for function and decor while keeping the integrity of all the years of artistic training and discipline in mind.

I have had a focus on the arts since I can remember, and creativity has always come naturally to me. While studying art in college I also studied abroad in London, England. While there I had the honor of completing an intensive study at the renowned Tate Museum. I graduated and received my BFA in Drawing, Painting, and Print Making.

My formal education gave me an advantage with color theory and composition. I found I was able to bridge the gap with interior designers, builders, and personal clients to create successful collaborations. Incorporating both the practical applications and the creative visions of the clients, along with great communication and a strong work ethic, has become my most valuable business skill.

As my business continued to grow, so did my skills. From basic base paint and faux finishes to restoration and commissioned art. I have spent 25+ years painting in high end homes and commercial properties. While the majority of my clients are based in Louisville KY and surrounding areas, I have also been fortunate enough to have been hired to work in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Miami.

My profession has allowed me to balance quality time with my husband Christopher, our three wonderful kids, and two dogs and a cat, where we reside in Louisville, KY.
